It's been a long time since I became Homogenic’s listener. This indie band is one of my Indonesian very favourite bands beside Efek Rumah Kaca. And today, Homogenic songs are on repeat on my playlist. I love Seringan Awan’s emotion. The part “Bila hadirmu buat hatiku seringan awan” (If your presence makes my heart as light as cloud) makes my heart absolutely light. I love “Best Day" for its catchy beat. “ Everyday is the best day for us. Can't you feel the atmosphere?” . And “Lirih” track, I don’t know but that virtual gamelan sound meet electro gives sacred and mysterious feeling. Hurrah, miss Dea, the synthesizer is cool! Enough here since I need to write about “Utopia” only. Yeah, I need different page if I have to talk about Homogenic itself. Hihi.

Aaaaaaaaargh, first of all, how to ignore a song with “eh-the-intro-is-so-well-made”? For bringing us high curiousity about the whole part of the song, that kind of intro must be illegal. I can't help waiting for what’s gonna happen after that intro. Then you continue listen to it and you’ll find the extremely lovable melody. It sends you a pleasant vibe. I don't even know why but the beat makes my heart peaceful. And the lyrics, lets just call it utopia. It feels like I have a crush to someone I adore but he’s simply unknown. Eventhough he’s unreal, I’m happy to have him as my utopia. I got that kind of atmosphere whenever I listen to it. Or this song tells us about the real someone who looks unreal? Someone in front of you is too good to be true, is that the message? Haha, I choose enjoying the music rather than questioning what is the real meaning.
