IT audit and managing the award-winning magazine, Auditoria. Armed with a Master's in Digital Transformation from UNSW Sydney, I'm currently wearing multiple hats—ambassador at IIA Indonesia's Young Leader Community, mentor at ISACA Global, Head of Public Relations at MoF-Cybersecurity Community, and trainer at IIA Indonesia. “Adan,” suara seseorang yang sangat kukenal mengetuk pintu apartemen yang kusewa. Jantungku berdenyut cepat tidak hanya karena tidak meyakini akan kembali mendengar suaranya memanggil namaku tetapi juga sebab aku tidak siap untuk menemuinya tanpa berkeinginan berterus terang.



“Break kita udah selesai, Ya?” aku berusaha terdengar setenang mungkin meski darahku berloncatan melihatnya lagi setelah sekian lama merasa seperti orang yang paling dia hindari.

Saya baru saja rampung membaca buku “Tuesday with Morrie: an old man, a young man, and life’s greatest lesson”. Memoir yang ditulis oleh Mitch Albom, seorang jurnalis dan penulis, itu disebutnya sebagai “tesis terakhir”-nya bersama Profesor Morris Schwartz yang membimbingnya semasa kuliah. Enam belas tahun tidak pernah bertukar kabar pasca kelulusannnya, Mitch melihat sang profesor muncul di acara TV Nightline membahas penyakit yang dideritanya, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). Acara yang membuatnya menyadari bahwa profesor favoritnya tidak memiliki banyak waktu tersisa itu memutar kembali ingatan Mitch akan kebersamaan mereka. Tatkala duduk di bangku kuliah, hampir semua pertemuannya dengan pria yang dipanggilnya “coach” itu terjadi di hari selasa. Kini, dia pun mengunjungi Morrie setiap hari selasa untuk berbicara dengannya: rangkaian pertemuan yang sarat pesan tentang kehidupan.

Gender imbalance in tech is not taking place behind closed doors. Being a woman in IT terrain equally means you’re a minority. In reality, many things could make us be cut from the same cloth yet there are abundant aspects inevitably dividing us into groups, for instance: age, ethnicity, race, religion, nationality, etc. Hence, the majority-minority issue happens all the time to the point it became mundane and (perhaps) is tedious to be discussed anymore. But still, I want to talk about it since the experience provided me new outlooks and perspectives which are unseen from the outside.
