“And we’ll never be royals, it's not in our blood. That kind of lux just ain't for us, we crave a different kind of buzz. Let me be your ruler, you can call me queen bee and baby I’ll rule, I’ll rule, let me live that fantasy.”
Yeah, she’s only 16 years old and joined Time Magazine’s 16 Most Influential Teens of 2013 list. With dark melodies, the New Zealand youngster conquering the world. The singer-songwriter caught attention with the hit single “Royals”. Signed into the largest music corporation, Universal Music, at 13 years old and spent her prior years before debuting into songwriting, she began her international career very early. Her stunning vocal plus masterful songwriting ability beyond her age. The rap music lover is excellent both linguistically and musically. Look at what this wavy-haired girl wrote: “We’re better than we ever dreamed and I’m in love with being queen. Life is great without a care. And everyone who knows us knows that we’re fine with this, we didn’t come from money.”. Unpredictable writing from 16 years old girl :)
Personally out of her songs, I love Royals's beat and melody. It also has a deep and strong message. Ah, every time I hear this song, my peculiar imagination grows. I awed by vocal with strong character Lorde posses. Powerful unique voice and poet-like lyrics of hers make me into her music. Her
mysterious image managed so well and no doubt about her talents, right? But the thing that impresses me the most is: she only sings what she wants to sing no matter what the market wants. Such a pure idealism :)
“But every song’s like gold teeth, grey goose,
tripping in the bathroom, blood stains, ball gowns, trashin’ the hotel room: we
don’t care. We’re drivin’ Cadillacs in our dream. But everybody’s like cristal,
Maybach, diamonds on your timepiece, jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold
leash: we don’t care. We aren’t caught up in your affair.”
